Ansys 2024 R2 Highlights: Reduce CO2 emissions, design quiet domestic appliances, bring your own cloud
Ansys released Ansys 2024 R2 on July 23rd, 2024. New features were added across the entire range of Ansys product family to help engineers develop the products of tomorrow.
In this article, I highlight my personal Top 3 favorites, which can help businesses save costs, reduce the number of design cycles, and bring their products to market faster.
Connected workflows
Connected workflows are my absolute favorite. Smooth workflows save time, reduce errors, and speed up time to market. In this release, Ansys has invested a lot in connected workflows and the open ecosystem. Python, ABAQUS, PTC, and much more.
At PDSVISION, we are partners with both Ansys and PTC. We have talked a lot about our Sustainability solution, which connects material information management, PLM, and digital design. This enables efficient reporting on the product BOM to auditors and customers, and Design for Sustainability. In the new 2024 R2, Ansys has focused on usability, which can be seen for example in the enhancements on CO2 reduction tracking.
Where are the noises and vibrations are coming from?
Another interesting area where the 2024 R2 offers new innovations is NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness). There are 8 billion electric motors in use in the EU. With the new features of the 2024 R2, we can design quiet electric motors more efficiently. It is possible to identify where the noises and vibrations are coming from, and which bodies are contributing the most to the vibrations. This benefits both the electric vehicle industry and the domestic appliances industry. AI capabilities allow for even greater levels of innovation at a rapid pace.
Bring your own cloud
The third area I want to highlight is Cloud. Many companies have negotiated agreements with cloud providers, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure. With Bring Your Own Cloud, you can bring your own negotiated agreement with the cloud provider and use it with Ansys solutions, Ansys preconfigured applications, and the latest cloud hardware.
